A memorable service that brings solace and joy.
At a very dear friend's funeral service, who had died tragically young, I had a light bulb moment that I knew I wanted to become a funeral celebrant. In my eyes, there is no greater honour than being part of the final goodbye of a loved one and putting together a memorable service that gives solace to all that know and miss them. But I also knew I wanted to bring laughter and joy into a funeral because I know that can help people get through the grief and pain they will be feeling. That's why I believe every good-bye to a loved one who has passed - whether it be at a crematorium, natural burial site, hotel, golf course or even a beach - should remember their life, celebrate who they were to us and include laughter for the joy they brought into our lives.

Celebration of Life
Services at a crematorium or burial site can be celebration of life services as well as an acceptance of the passing of a loved one. But another option that many people are taking is a true celebration of life event. This can be, and often is, a full-on party to celebrate the life of the deceased.
Often a direct cremation has already taken place so this can, if required, be combined with the scattering of ashes (or maybe even a firework display dispersing the ashes!). But the real focus in on celebrating the life of the loved one so there should be music, drink, food and laughter! So, you will remember, celebrate and laugh about the life of your loved one with family and friends.
Nothing should be out of bounds here, so contact me and we can create a truly great celebration of life party.
Scattering of Ashes
Whether you have had a direct cremation or a funeral service already, the scattering of ashes is still a poignant moment. After all this is the last physical remains of a loved one.
Now you could go a traditional route like throwing the ashes off Whitby Pier, (that's what I did) but you could want to scatter the ashes at an intimate family gathering at home or a favourite venue or at a beach...... I can craft a ceremony for this occasion that will make you remember, celebrate and laugh. I can also help with all the various options around the scattering of ashes from interment in a formal setting to using a firework display and everything in- between!
Planning My Funeral Service
For whatever reason, you are thinking about planning your own funeral. I can help shape and define your send- off to be exactly what you want it to be. It will be as unique as you are and as an independent celebrant, there are so many ideas I can offer! It truly is the ultimate gift you can give your loved ones by removing the burden of planning your funeral service once you have passed. The plan can be shared with them or kept in an appropriate safe place, and I will keep a copy too. If anything changes, we can update it as required.
Contact me when you want to and we can get the planning started.
