This privacy notice tells you what to expect me to do with your personal information and how I will look after it.
The new data protection law – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – which came into force in May 2018 means I need to tell you how I handle and protect your personal data.

What information I collect, use, and why
I may collect or use any of the following information to write and deliver or plan your funeral ceremony :-

- Date of birth and death
- Photographs or video recordings
- Records of meetings and decisions

- Religious or philosophical beliefs
- Health information
- Sexual orientation information
I may share your data with industry professionals for the sole purpose of facilitating the ceremony you have commissioned. This may include:
- Funeral Directors
- Funeral Arrangers
- Crematorium/venue staff
Your consent for me to be your Funeral Celebrant is my lawful basis for collecting or using personal information to provide my services.
Information storage
All your information is stored both electronically on a password protected device and on paper during the process of creating a ceremony. Your data is retained whilst your booking is carried out. Thereafter, I will continue to retain some of your personal information for a further period of 6 years to ensure compliance with HMRC tax and reporting requirements, after which, your data will be destroyed.
Nobody else but myself will have access to my password protected computer.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access - You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal data.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask me to rectify personal data you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask me to erase your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask me to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that I transfer the personal data you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
Your right to withdraw consent – As I use consent as our lawful basis you have the right to withdraw your consent.
If you make a request to exercise any of your rights, I have one calendar month to respond to you.
